Eclipse season has begun…

Are you feeling the eclipse energy yet?

This flashpoint post-Pluto in Aquarius, post-Saturn in Pisces, and immediately pre-sun into Taurus and a short lived Merc retrograde in Taurus as well is intense. We are entering a new era outside of the heavy, oppressive influence of Pluto in Capricorn since 2008. Saturn in Aquarius brought us the summer of 2020, with its record-breaking protests. What will Pluto in Aquarius bring? If you are tuned in, you may already be getting the idea that something is shifting, since early March. The air smells different.

We aren’t out of the woods yet, with Pluto dipping back into Capricorn in summer before setting up shop in Aquarius in January of 2024 until 2043 (!). Gen Z is coming of age and making a splash, and I think we will continue to see the clash of old-guard Capricorn-esque structures banging against the new era elevated consciousness of these new kids. If you are one (Pluto in Sagittarius generation), congrats, you are the new wave and Pluto in Aquarius is your moment.

But back to this gnarly eclipse. What ghosts (or demons?) of the past are you being asked to release (exorcize)? If you can’t quite make sense of it yet, the good news is that you have Mercury retrograde until May 14th to figure it out. This is a great time to apply a Venusian lense to yourself and your life. How can you treat yourself better? Who or what is standing in the way of radical self-love? If you already have some ideas springing up about this, try to hold off on any power moves until post-merc retrograde. Obviously, if it can’t wait, it can’t wait. Don’t stay in an ugly or dangerous situation because of some hot ball out by the sun.

However, the next eclipse on the Taurus/Scorpio axis will bring more clarity and wisdom to anything which has dawned on you since March 8th, March 23rd, or April 19th/20th with the Aries eclipse. The remainder of Mercury retrograde in Taurus will give you time to integrate the new wisdom and plan your next move. Be warned, there may be more ghost-busting involved than you are bargaining for at this moment.

It’s a great time to focus on what feels good, and not in an indulgent sense. More like getting solid rest, fueling your body with the right foods, and enforcing boundaries that help you thrive. Your time and energy is limited, and allowing it to be siphoned off into black holes is self-harm. Dig it? If not, slow down, tune in, stay (or get) balanced and open, and see what you get between now and then end of May, when Mercury leaves the shadow zone. This retrograde is short-lived but it will be a doozy if you allow others to control your time, vibe, etc. And may be a doozy even if you do, but it is up to you not to let it knock you off center. A new era is right around the corner if you are brave enough, and holding on to vestiges of the past is more work than letting go.
